Lecturer - Ana Maria Dobre

November 28, 2014

The Romanian Social Data Archive with Adrian Dusa organized the event "RODA Stakeholder Conference", held on November 28, 2014, being hosted by the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, University of Bucharest. At the event were present the results of the project "Integrated Information System for the identification, storage and dissemination of databases and indicators of social research" conducted in 2012-2014. One of the roles of the project was to upgrade the computer system of RODA in order to ensure compatibility with the European network of social data archives CESSDA - Council of European Social Science Data Archives. Following its system modernization, RODA has one of the newest and innovative data management systems in the world. With a completely open-source technology, it facilitates concentration of efforts in several countries to further develop a common system.

Specifically, the data is available through the Web interface of the website www.roda.ro, under various levels of access. Integration with R programming environment allows the analysis of variables directly in the web interface. A data visualization tool is available, which consists of an interactive map vector.

The archive contains data collections accessible for the academic community and the interested public, for secondary and comparative analysis, as well as for experts in social sciences, policy makers, representatives of government agencies and non-governmental organizations.

All members of R-omanian R Team participated in this event.
